Jeremy and Renee Bergevin – Bulgan
Pray for our neighbors Batbaatar and his son Tamiraa. We had understood before our HA some profession of faith from the man of the house. Now looking for opportunities to verify and build on that mustard seed of faith. Friendships and loyalties to Buddhism obviously remain.
Pray for our watchman family Baaska. They are looking to transition from employment (watching our house while we were gone) into ministry that most probably will be bi-vocational. Pray for work and healthy relationships amongst followers of Jesus in Bulgan.
Pray for our girls’ Mongolian language to come back. It’s coming slowly back. But we have a lot of ground to cover for Maggie and Lydia to have a chance at being in the Mongolian school as a daily compliment to home school.
Please pray for our upcoming Bible English Sports Training August 2-9 bolstered by the help of a small team from Bellevue, Ohio. Pray that preparation as well as follow up will bring glory to Jesus in Bulgan, and back around to America.
Please pray for God’s hand to guide us to the right vehicle to buy for use during this term. Will start to look Wednesday July 28th.
Renee and I could use prayers for grace with the kids and each other as the “new” of being back may start to wear off.

Pray for good health as I travel for the next 5 months.

Jeremy and Krista Fields – Darhan
Pray for patience and joy-filled freedom as we pack up our house (Aug 1) and spend the next month as modern nomads (trainings, camping, field forum, and a move to Hovd!)
Pray for Spirit-filled words of encouragement as we say our farewells to Darhan neighbors and friends (Aug 29).
Pray for wisdom-filled planning as we train Dawaa & Bathoik to continue with the economic trainings and development program (1st course graduation Aug 28).
Pray for Christ-filled relationships as we form partnerships for new ministries in the West, and as our team grows to love and challenge one another (they arrive Aug 16 & 17).

Karen Hessel – IWK teacher – Darhan
Pray that God would guide how I use my time during the rest of the summer. That I would get important things done, but also rest well and allow time & space for God to speak to me.
Pray that God would help me prepare well for this year and it’s changes: different grades of students and more adult helpers in the classroom.
Pray that God would take the Mongolian I did learn this summer and help me use it well, especially to be a blessing to people in the community and people at CLTC.

Larry and Krista Lain – Darhan
1. Only 3 weeks to go (out of of Kazakh Language Study at Indiana University
(5 days a week/8 hours a day-4 hours in class and 4 hours of homework each day)
Pray for perseverance and that we would finish well
Pray for retention of learning a lot of information in a short time (over 1000 words and LOTS of grammatical structures to memorize!)
Pray for great bonding time for our children with grandparents while we are away
Pray for great memorable weekends with our kids and our families

Pray as we find a way to transport all our belongings
Pray that we would be able to find an apartment quickly and easily
Pray that we would be connected with a GREAT host family to set up a ger in their yard…for life-long friendships to develop
4. Pray for our ADOPTION paperwork to be processed quickly and smoothly
Praise the Lord! All the paperwork is in the mail!!!
Pray that they receive all the right paperwork that it is filled out correctly, that it reaches the right destinations and that it is processed quickly
Pray that we are given a fingerprinting appointment before we leave for Mongolia (very important)
Pray that God will prepare our hearts, minds, and souls for our new child(ren)
Pray for PATIENCE as we wait!

Jason and Ruth Lee – Ulaanbaatar
Praise the Lord for His faithfulness. We have our new working visa for Mongolia.
Pray for our future ministry as we return to Ulaanbaatar on August 9.
Pray for our children as they return for another year of school.

Brent and Lisa Liberda – Darhan
1. Pray for Lisa and the Mongolian teachers she is working with in preparation for the VBS/Kids club that will take place August 2-6. Pray that things will run smoothly and that the children who attend would have open hearts to receive God’s word
2. Pray for the biblical counseling training that Brent will be presenting to Christian social service workers in the Darhan area August 13 and 14. Pray that these workers would be challenged and better equipped for providing biblical solutions to problems they deal with in the public sector.

Richel and Melody Maraat – Ulaanbaatar
1. Please pray that all of us will keep growing in our relationship with Jesus.
2. Please pray for our children’s home-schooling.
3. Please pray that God will continue to keep our family in good health.

Dennis and Marilyn Maves – Ulaanbaatar
1. Pray for our personal walk with the Lord, that we will continue to grow in intimacy with Him.
2. Pray for our family. It is always hard to say good-bye to our family when we return to the field. We are so thankful for the special family memories that we have made during this past year. We arrived back in Mongolia the end of June.
Pray that the Lord will provide renters for our house in Wisconsin while we are in Mongolia.
4. Pray for Dennis’ eye, that it will remain stable. He has daily medication and eye drops.
5. Praise the Lord for the purchase of our new Multi-Purpose Community Center (MPCC) in Ulaanbaatar. Renovations have begun to prepare the facility for ministry. Pray for the funding and all the renovations that need to be done. Just the 1st floor of the 3 floor building will need over $5000 worth of renovation.
6. Pray for the registration for Cornerstone Church of All Nations, the international church here in Ulaanbaatar. Pray for favor with the government. A visa for a pastor can be applied for once the church is registered. Pray for the Lord’s provision for the right pastor for this church.
7. This fall, we will begin our EFL (English as a Foreign Language) program here at the UB MPCC. Pray for Christina Wahlen (who is heading up the program here in UB—Ulaanbaatar) and Marilyn as they work and teach together.

Nghia and An-hoa Pham – Home Assignment (USA)

For His protection during our trip home.
For a good and restful time to reconnect with friends and family members.
For meaningful time at Home Assignment Mission Seminar in Louisville, Kentucky.
For His provision: a place to stay in Pasadena, California during our Home Assignment year.
For the renewal of Nghia’s Mongolian medical license (even when it’s late)
Prayer Requests
Pray for good health and safe travel as we begin our speaking tour this Sunday July 25. Pray for concentration and Holy Spirit filled heart and mind as we prepare our presentation for tour.
Pray for our children: Josiah is teaching English in Korea until December, he has 1 week
summer vacation and is planning to have his wisdom teeth extraction during this time, pray for good health. Pray for Gabriel and Jubilee adjusting well to new school, and God
provision of good friends and dorm mate.
Pray for Tolgoi Good News Church: Pray that the church members will continue to fellowship and grow in their faith and able to carry on other church activities.
While giving Nghia the medical license renewal, the Mongolian Health Ministry did not grant CAMA the permit to do health work in Mongolia. Pray for our team leaders and for us, that we will have the wisdom and discernment to plan for our work in Mongolia in the next term.

Pieter and Haniki Theron – Darhan
Please pray for:
1. Christian Leadership Training Center:
- The first batch of students have completed the first year and have received their certificates of completion. Pray for these students for next year, and for new students who want to enroll in the program.
- For Pieter and Tuyagerel who will do most of the teaching during next year, but also other team members who will teach some of the courses.
- For the English Program in Darhan, for Cinda who will start teaching upon their return to Mongolia, and Ali who will be back in April next year.
- For the staff and faculty at CLTC. Praise God for the funds which enabled us to raise their salaries. They all appreciate it very much.
2. Nikdovnihon Church:
- For two couples who have completed the marriage counseling and who had a Christian wedding. The third couple will soon be finished with their counseling.
- For the leaders of the church who faithfully fulfill their duties in the church.
3. Personal:
- Praise for a year survived. We’ve made many mistakes, but we’ve learned a lot during the past year. We’re very happy the Maves are back, now we’ll be able to focus on developing the training program and mentoring all the staff at CLTC. We have about eight months doing this before leaving on Home Assignment. This will be our fifth year on the field.
- Pray that we’ll be good mentors for people around us, for wisdom, and we will have much grace and perseverance doing our ministry.

Erik and Christina Wahlen – Ulaanbaatar
Please pray with us for:
-the finances we need to renovate and outfit our new multi-purpose community center. A proposal has been prepared and sent out. Please pray that God would stir people’s hearts to give and to pray.
-the arrival of a shipment containing our green coffee beans, coffee roaster, espresso machine, syrups, etc… it is on its way to Mongolia. Please pray for favor with customs when we pick it up.
-our good-byes. We have been in America these past 2 months to change our visas. It is always hard to say good-bye to family and friends.
-a smooth transition as we leave America to return to Mongolia on July 31st.
Praise God with us for:
-the provision of our new multi-purpose community center. It needs A LOT of work before it can be functional and usable, but we are excited to see this building used to reach out to the people in this city.
-the registration progress of the international church in UB.
-the arrival of our passports with our new visas.
-an excitement from our kids to get back “home” to Mongolia. We are so thankful for their adjustment to our new home.

Peter and Esther Yim – Erdenet
Praise the Lord ! We baptized 22 new believers at the Zaminwood church on July 19, 2010.
1. Pray for next week( August 2nd through 9th), for youth group outreach training seminar. Mostly college students ( who are studying in Inner Mongolia and even Russia and UB and Erdenet) are going back to their school September 1st. Pray for their hearts to continue outreach to their friends. Inner Mongolia National University has a group already. Pray for Peter and Esther to teach them with empowered Holy Spirit. Sarah and Joy will join in English conversation class. After seminar, some students are joining with Erdenet church leaders for outreach in Moron( near Hovsugul lake) area.
2. Pray for Zaminwood church where they will have VBS camp next August 2 through 14. And after VBS camp they will send outreach team( about 10 members) to Hanbold city( near South Gobi Oyun Tolgoli mine). They are preparing to send one family with Zaminwood church’s support.
3. Pray for Denz church construction to complete well. Pray for funds to get good quality of windows and roof.
4. Pray for Sarah and Joy. They will return to Morrison Academy in Taiwan on August 14.

CAMA Health Project
Please continue to pray for the special permission to do health work for CAMA Services International Mongolia. Again, we are updating and submitting additional documents requested by the Health Ministry. The Health Ministry also wants to send national health inspectors to inspect the clinic again since the previous inspection were done by provincial inspectors only.
Praise God that we have fixed the portable dental unit (compressor and suction) that was malfunctioned since October. It is ready for the dental team from Taiwan to use.when they come in the middle of April

Pray for the Tolgoi Teverchidin Good News House Church.
Praise God for the baptism service for 10 believers on February 28. Mr. Tudev who is 60 years old, is one of the two men in this group. He wants to quit smoking. Please continue to pray for him and for these believers so that their lives will be radically changed by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We are planning for an Easter Baptism service on April 4. A few more believers have missed out this time.
Please pray that we could firmly establish a house church in the Zuragt area, with weekly meeting.
We also want to start a small group in Enkhtal, which is about 1 hour drive on dirt road from Darhan.
Mrs. Degegdulam, a new comer to the Tolgoi Good News House Church for the past few weeks has a daughter 36 years old named Darimaa. She is invalid and bedridden due to severe depression for the past 10 years. Please join with us to pray for this family that God will heal this daughter and save the whole family, for His glory.

Thanksgiving
Thank you for praying for our language study. Jason and Ruth now have a separate individual class and gets lots of speaking exercises. Thank you for praying specifically for a clear pronunciation of Mongolian words.

Thank you for praying for our safety and health. There had been very close calls (lots of traffic fender benders, etc). We are all healthy and God’s grace is overwhelming.

Thank you for praying for our children. They began to appreciate their daily lives here in Mongolia, even enjoying outdoor activities in the middle of cold winter.

Prayers
Please pray for our ministry in ger districts around Ulaanbaatar. We are visiting couple of sites to set up a children’s week-day program. Please pray for God’s wisdom and God’s guidance to meet His faithful people.
Please pray for a joyful relationship between Ruth and Jason, that we enjoy each other’s company and that we can truly be open to each other.
Please pray for our upcoming trip to New York in June that our visa process will go smoothly without any major hiccups. We remember how faithful God was when we first came here in 2008. We received our visa TWO days before our flight!

As a result of much generosity after the robbery, God restored many of the things the enemy tried to steal from us, including a lots of tea, spices, goodies, Alias Season 5 and a new i-pod for worship! WE ARE SO THANKFUL! (Please pray that we can get the i-pod working…still having trouble with internet and computer software issues in trying to upload itunes…)

PRAY FOR THE LAINS FEB 2010
Please pray for the preparation for our upcoming trip. We will be in Thailand for about 2 weeks and in America for 4.5 months. If you’ve seen our schedule (in a recent email) you can sense that we will be very busy!!! Here are some things you can pray for:
1. That our relationship with God will continue to stay strong and BE our #1 focus…that we wouldn’t get distracted by all the things that need to be done…but instead be like Mary at the feet of Jesus.
2. That we would finish well in Darhan and that we could leave some lasting “lamps” behind with oil that never runs dry! May His Kingdom come in this place!
3. That we would accomplish all that needs to be done with PEACE and GRACE (Car’s starter needs replaced, sorting and packing up ALL our stuff, language study, relationship building, etc.)
4. Pray for Peace among family relationships…No stress!!!
5. Pray for the kids (and us) as we say goodbye to many of our friends. (We will only be in Darhan for 1-2 weeks before we move to Hovd when we return)
6. Pray for the kids schooling. This will be an ongoing prayer request as Krista will be home-schooling while traveling for 10-12 weeks. She is excited about this exciting and very challenging opportunity to minister to our children!

CAMA Health Project
We went to Bulgan on Jan 24 and came back to Darhan on Jan 25 after holding a mobile clinic there. Thank God for giving us a safe trip. The clinic was held in a local believer home in Zung Turuu, a suburb of Bulgan. We saw 41 patients from 10 am-5 pm. The patients were prayed for during their clinic visit and the Gospel was shared by Baskaa to those who never heard of it. Praise the Lord, 10 patients prayed to received Christ during our clinic. Please pray for the follow up work with the formation of a cell group in that believer’s home.

Please continue to pray for the special permission to do health work for CAMA Services International Mongolia. The Health Ministry had denied our request citing that they grant permit only to for-profit-clinic while CAMA is a non-profit organization. We are appealing their decision at the present time.

The portable dental unit (compressor and suction) was malfunctioned since October. So far in Darhan we have not found an electrician who could repair it. The dental team from Taiwan will come in the middle of April. Pray that we are able to repair the machine by that time.

Pray for the Tolgoi Teverchidin Good News House Church.
We have distributed some used clothing early in January and just now we also distributed coal and flour to the church members. Many of them are poor, they are facing many difficulties due to the extreme cold weather of this year.

Pray for an in-house water baptism service being planned at the end of February for about 10-12 people.

Please pray for the leader training, and outreach effort. Pray for the out pouring of the Holy Spirit on this small group of new believers. They need unwavering faith and power on high to live victorious Christian Life and to evangelize their community effectively in this new year. We have 4 more months to train the leaders and the church members before leaving for home assignment.

Personal
Jubilee had a severe stomach pain this morning which made us think she might have appendicitis. We prayed and put oil on her, gave her ginger tea. She had diarrhea a few times later on during the day but then recovered well by the evening. Praise the Lord!

Nikdovnigon Church: For the last 4 weeks we have seen an increase in attendance every Sunday. Yesterday 60 people, up from 30 – 40 at the end of last year. Pieter has worked hard to help and advise the church leaders and members of the church. His goal is to hand it over back to them as soon as possible. But the situation is complicated and he is struggling with what he has to do. Please pray for wisdom and answers to questions.

1.  Please pray for our Mongolian friends Baljee and Anha who lost their 4
month old daughter a couple weeks ago.  We pray that God would strengthen
Baljee’s worshipping heart to enable Him to continue singing praise songs to
God as they trust in Him during this very difficult time.  (I cried with joy
on behalf of God’s mercy and grace as we watched him lead worship at the
Christmas service only days after his daughter’s death.)  May our God
Emmanuel be with Baljee and Anha and comfort them with his grace.

2.  Pray that we would spend time daily seeking God’s face and that He
would continued to strengthen our faith.
3.  Pray for Guidance as we only have 2 months until we leave for a
conference in Thailand followed by our furlough in America.
4.  Pray that we wouldn’t get overwhelmed by the many things we hope to get
accomplished before we leave next month:

1. Our week off of language study has been relaxing and FUN! While Krista is Christmas shopping in the capital city Larry and his friend Jeremy are Paragliding for a week-long training course! Praise God for safety and a good time!

3. We are settled into our ger and enjoying our evenings eating great Kazakh meals and practicing language with our new family!
4. We are all doing well after the car accident and we have been reunited with our freshly painted blue van! Praise God for only minor injuries! Larry’s back is still a little sore but he has been visiting a great acu-pressure/chiropractor in the capital city(4 hours away). Pray for continued recovery!
5. Praise Him for dropping a great opportunity in Krista’s lap for her to teach 4-5 aerobics classes every week with a total of 15-20 women (5 to 10 attend each class!) Pray that the ladies will have understanding as Krista does her best to teach with limited language and that Jesus’ light will shine through her!
6. Praise Him for surviving our first month of learning the Kazakh language! We praise Him for our new teacher, Gulejan. Please pray that some language materials will arrive from Kazakstan and for wisdom as our teacher translates them from Russian into Kazakh and then teaches them to us in Mongolian/Kazakh The grammar is similar to Mongolian but a level higher in difficulty. Pray that God would give us patience for the slow journey ahead of us.
7. Praise Him as He continues to draw us into His presence as we seek His face! We are so thankful for His goodness in our lives!

2. Pray that God will give us strength and that He will provide for our health needs. Pray for healing in Dennis’ eye. He continues to have treatments on his left eye during this year of HA.

3. Pray that God will give us some great memory-making family times with our children and grandchildren, and that we will have opportunities to all be together during the holidays.

4. Pray that God would bless our children in their work and ministry: Jonathan and Rachael with Eva and Marah-staff at Alliance Redwoods Conference Center and teacher’s consultant, JoAnna and Trevor with Silas and Katherine-nurse and HS teacher in St. Paul, and Joy-staff at IHOP (International House of Prayer) in Kansas City, MO.

CAMA Health Project
Please continue to pray for the special permission to do health work for CAMA Services International Mongolia. We have submitted the request supplement documents.
Praise God for a good and positive approval letter from the Darhan Health Inspectors
Praise God for the work done by the Taiwan Christian Dental team early in October. In 3 ½ working days the team treated 182 dental patients from Darhan local churches, school, prison and the village of Enkhtal.

Cooking Class/Relief Council
Cooking class has presumed after a long break. The students are learning how to bake simple healthy cookies using oatmeal as the main ingredients. They are very interested to learn that they can use oatmeal to make many things instead of just feeding animals as Mongolians do. Last week, CAMA had power shortage and so we had a chance to host the cooking class at our home.
The relief council continues to meet once a month, we spent time in prayer and fellowship with one another over lunch. This month we’ve received 19 applications and we were able to help 18 families, almost half the them need help with wood and coal since the winter has begun with piercing cold during the night.

Pray for the Tolgoi Teverchidin Good News House Church.
Please pray for the leader training, and out reach effort. Pray for the out pouring of the Holy Spirit on this small group of new believers. They need unwavering faith and power on high to overcome these trial victoriously and to evangelize their community effectively.

Last week CAMA Mongolia had the privilege of hosting a vision team from the US. We spent a lot of time talking about Community Centers and how we can see Gospel impact on the capital city of Mongolia. It was a blessing to show this team the work that is taking place in Mongolia and to connect with them about the future. Partnership is the way to accomplish the work we are called to do here. Because of this team’s visit and support (along with many others who have donated and prayed), CAMA Mongolia may soon have a community center in Ulaanbaatar, serving the needs of the city.
