About two months ago, this family began believing in Jesus for the first time. Now, Dr. Pham and his family visit them every week, helping them to establish a house church. Now a couple of different families are meeting every week at 11:00 AM in their ger (round felt tent). It’s exciting to see this new group of believers - pray for their growth in Christ!

We’ve had a difficult week here in Mongolia. A young couple that works with our team in Darhan lost their four month old baby girl to what was probably meningitis on Friday Morning. The young man worked with our team at the youth camp this past summer. The young mother has been working with Dr. Pieter Theron at the Leadership Training Center.
Pray for them in this difficult time. The funeral will be on Monday, October 27th. Brent Liberda will be conducting the funeral along with co-worker Dawaa. Pray the Brent and Dawaa will be given words of comfort, wisdom and grace for the family and for the young believers who will be present. Pray also for unbelievers who may be present, that they will see Jesus through grief.

There were probably times when the Santa Rosa prayer team felt like they were on a prayer sprint rather than a prayer walk! After a 12 hour delay in Beijing, they hit the ground running…and praying.
Following their orientation and a cultural experience at the Black Market, they began their prayer journey praying with the UB language students, the Wahlens and the Lees.
The next day they prayed over the city, top to bottom, one end to the other. They prayer walked the Gandhan monastery and then the ger district where we hope to see a church planted in the next couple of years before going to the Zaisan Monument overlooking the city where they prayed for the masses. From there it was on to our new Ministry Center housed in a small storefront in the University Belt of Ulaanbaatar (the UB of UB). By that time we were sure we had worn them out and so we fed them and sent them to bed.
The rest would be needed for their whirlwind tour of Darhan, Bulgan and Erdenet. The first stop was the Christian Leadership Training Center in Darhan where they met with the Therons and prayed for the training program as well as the new student ministries taking place there. They prayed also with Kirsten Hewitt for the MK school and students. They had a working dinner at the Chinese restaurant where they met and prayed for the language students in Darhan – Ali Dench, the Lains, Liberdas and Woods.

Thursday morning started with prayer not only for the clean water project at the well outside the Field’s home, but also praying that Jesus would send Living Water to the community as Jeremy visits every man in the neighborhood in the coming weeks and months.

At the CAMA center they prayed for the expansion of the kingdom through the ministries of Nghia and An-hoa Pham through their work at the Clinic, with the Crafts project and for the vision for a soup kitchen and a nutrition class.

After lunch it was on the road again to Bulgan and the home of Jeremy and Renee Bergevin. As this is the westernmost point of CAMA Mongolia thus far, prayer was not just for the Bergevin family and Bulgan ministry, but for the future of expanding our reach to the western aimags.
The next morning we packed up again and backtracked to Erdenet. The Yims shared their vision not only for that city, but for the beginning church plants in all of the surrounding villages. On our way out of town Saturday we stopped in Jargalant, the location of the accident the Yims had two years previous. It was determined by all that it was not a car accident but a car placement since God miraculously kept His servants from harm and used it to open a door for a church plant there (check back later for more information on this).

Arriving back at the UB Guesthouse at 3:14, they were given a two hour break for shopping before dinner and a partnership meeting with the Andersons and Dennis Maves.
On behalf of the entire CAMA team, thank you for allowing us to wear you out for the work of the kingdom here in Mongolia. We thank God for every remembrance of all of our partners and especially those who pray. Thank you Santa Rosa Prayer Team for sacrificing to pray on-site with insight.

When they landed at the Ghengiss Khan International Airport in Ulaanbaatar, their first response was “this looks just like Wyoming”. The wide open treeless landscape of Mongolia was like home for the vision team from Evanston Alliance Church. CAMA Mongolia enjoyed a week of fellowship with the folks from Evanston, as they were able to experience many aspects of life and culture in Mongolia - which included being guests of honor at a Mongolian wedding.

One of the key events of the week was a men’s conference held in Darhan. The church needs men who will lead with faith, courage and Biblical integrity. The guys were able to spend some time in teaching and training 22 men. The guys were encouraged - and the field team was encouraged. We trust that Christ will speak to the men of this country and that real change and transformation will take place.

We thank Evanston Alliance for their trip to Mongolia. We look forward to how we can partner together for Mongolia, Evanston and the Kingdom.

A short term medical team from the Los Angeles Sarang Community Church lead by Dr. Joung Uoong Lee came to work with us for one week Sept 1 -7, 2008. This is the fifth time that Dr. Lee been to Mongolia. This team had one medical doctor, one acupuncturist, one nurse and 2 persons for children ministry and three for prayer ministry to the patients and general help. They worked for one day in Darhan, 2 days in Jargalant , and one day in Erdenet.
The team saw about 300 patients and prayed for each. 40 patient made first step commitments to Christ during their clinic visit in Jargalant and Erdenet. Jargalant is the new location for church planting effort recently launched by Rev. Peter and Esther Yim.
They also brought many needed medications and supplies for our CAMA Health Project. We give praise and thanks to the Lord for the hard and faithful work done by the team members and the fruitful labor the Lord gave. We really appreciate their love for the Mongolian people, and their generous giving to the work in Mongolia.

CAMA Mongolia would like to welcome back all of the returning MK’s, as well as the new MK’s to our MK School in Darhan. Our teacher, Kirsten Hewitt, has worked hard in preparing lessons and activities for the coming year. She has the special challenge of teaching 10 students in 6 grades in one classroom!

Be sure to pray for Kirsten and for her class this year. Also, please know that this is another area for potential partnership! Other teachers, classrooms, Sunday School classes, Women’s groups, Children and youth groups can come alongside these kids (and their teacher!) to bless and encourage with prayer, gifts, support and encouragement. Contact us is you are interested in more partnership information.
Be sure to pray for our MK’s over the coming school year.

This year CAMA Mongolia held Annual Field Forum at Tiara Resorts in Terelj National Park, just outside of Ulaanbaatar. We spent the week enjoying one another’s fellowship, talking strategy and being challenged from God’s Word by Pastor John Kitchen (Stow Alliance Church).
A highlight to this year’s forum was the great time we had getting to know one another, and particularly all of the new team members that we have received this year. The children and youth had a great time with each other, while they had a great VBS put on by a team from Faith Community Church in Franklin, TN. Many have said that the 2008 Mongolia Field Forum was not only the largest in CAMA Mongolia history - but it was also the best. Here is our forum family photo. We are grateful to God and hopeful for the future.
